Innovator Founder Visa
Innovator Founder Visa
The Innovator visa replaced the Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa and is designed for experienced entrepreneurs looking to establish a viable business in the UK with real prospects of growth. This visa category is aimed at individuals from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for an Innovator visa, you must:
Obtain an endorsement letter from an approved body stating that your business is viable and has investment or funds of £50,000.
Be at least 18 years old.
Fulfill the B2 English language ability requirement.
Prove that you have sufficient funds to support yourself while in the UK.
Pass the credibility assessment.
Duration of Stay
The Innovator visa is valid for three years. During this time, you can:
Bring your family to the UK.
Work on your business.
To gain settled status or indefinite leave to remain (ILR), you will need to successfully extend your initial Innovator visa. This extension requires another endorsement for the same business and depends on the assessment of the business’s growth and sustainability. Once granted ILR, you may later apply for British citizenship.
Obtaining an Endorsement
The endorsement process typically involves two stages:
Submission of Documents: Applicants must submit a comprehensive and detailed business plan.
Interview: A detailed evaluation of the business plan and other relevant documentation.
Endorsement Requirements:
Innovation: The business plan must be genuine and include an element of innovation.
Viability: You must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the market and possess the credentials to execute the business plan.
Scalability: The plan should show potential for creating jobs and growing on a national scale.
The endorsement process can be challenging as it requires careful planning and a detailed assessment of all aspects of the proposed business.

Family: Apply for your family members and dependents to join you in the UK (each requires a separate application).
